Nope, I did not stop making art
just a break to
flow with the world
to create with fabric
thread
with my hands
always my hands
a break, a breath
the studio is set up differently
with a separate room
built new
clean, white
for resin coating
flowing paint
fun
joy
enjoyment
very big
and really tiny

Canvas Gallery, my longest standing gallery has just received 4 new pieces from me. They wrote a lovely post on their blog about it. Here are the images a bit larger:
"Ethereal Spheres" size: 26" x 72"
Source 1 & 2 can be combined into a diptych that can be displayed in different ways. I regard the viewer as the final component in the creation of my work, and I have been striving to create work that allows the viewer to partake in this process through a choice in displaying the work. My abstracts provide very different emotional responses depending on the direction that they are hung. They can also be changed around and provide an interactive play between the viewer and the piece.
Enjoy!

Completion
most of the works
gone
left
out in the world
travelers, seekers
finders of their permanent
home.
The viewer, the purchaser
the final piece
of completion in the
process
of creating
Their thoughts
added
to my feelings
mixed
changing my intent
enhancing it
distorting it
understanding?
Their thoughts
are what matters
more?
Their thoughts
their reaction
will make my seekers
be loved, accepted, wanted, acquired
To enable me to keep
my living
my creating
in the flow.
When the end is here
for me
some day
guaranteed
my pieces will continue
to be
alive. here. bringing joy. existing. loved.
24" x 24" Textures of our Memories
On my iPod:
Fall of Giants (I did not like this the way I liked Pillars of the Earth),
The Dark River
The Golden City

today, tonight, tomorrow
sneak into

waiting... for
details
finishing
being readied to enter
into the world.
Diptych - 30"x30"
Blue Diptych 2 x 24" x24"
Red Triptych 3 x 24" x 24"
Red Triptych 3 x 26" x 26"
Red Triptych 30" x 30"
Series of little abstracts each 8" x 8"
Series of Figurative 8" x 8" pieces.
There is more, to be shown in the days ahead.
I-pod - my old one died, after 6 years and a few repairs. Now I have a new I pod Nano. Metallic pink - for the girly-girl in me that is always hidden. Listening to: Susan Howatch - Absolute Truths. On Tape: Music from 1985 - more youth.

life is
details
the paint bottles got opened today
a way was found
for protecting
the cast on the
fractured finger
new details, a new way of using
something new
never bevor was it used
but there is potential
details of another sort
comfortable
right
fitting
yet always, first there is hesitation
then knowing, trusting, doing
another way
to show detail
by showing
a detail of life
a moment
of my life
and
so many others
neve really
alone
8"x8" in total size with all the other parts of the piece.
and another design
to make myself
feel better!
Listening to: Sins of our Fathers.

Here we are
not quite whole
but healing
finding deeper inspiration
and sillyness
always
never stop
sillyness
Can't get the cast wet, can't wear gloves to not make it sweat, need to keep it on for at least another 2 weeks.
It happened when I was spring cleaning the studio. A heavy table top, too heavy for me to lift, fell onto the finger. I heard the most awful sound of the bone being fractured.
Finding some other ways to be creative. Yesterday:
Today: going to the ROM. Sketching. Wandering on my schedule, not Huxley's.
Tomorrow: Back to the studio, working on details:
Listening to: Sins of our Fathers, Stones into Schools, Angels and Demons (2nd Time around and still fun), Swiss-German-Austrian-drinking songs... (but no Bier to go with it).

May the new year bring resolution to issues from 2010, good health and a steady flow of time to execute ideas. May it also bring peace and contentment with what we have, insight into how each and every one of us can help humanity and each other.
May the year also be full of laughter, sunshine and rain, wind and storms, shelter and nourishment for all!
A big Hug!

At the end of the day
after
full production
sunset
excitement set up
for the next day
to come
and see
the labour of the past day
sometimes very happy
sometimes not impressed
yet
always
it meant time spent
creation
the end of the day
too tired
to wash all the brushes
used up
me too
Written in permanent marker on the wall in the studio:
"Tears and doubt are part of the process in creating my art work."
On the I-pod: Song for Arboune, A Prayer for Owen Meaney, The Eight.

Working
Creating
so much
New palett colours slipping out
of my hands
my head
my mind
my soul
Not yet ready
to be show to
you and
the world.
keeping it close to
me and only showing to a selected few
But here for you...
beginnings
again that now
are now not total beginnings any more
but becoming
works
of my soul
art
Experimenting to grow
to learn
to make richer
layers of life
surfaces to go above
and below
Reading and
sketching
deepening
the connection of
everything
These past weeks listening to: Einstein: His Life and Universe and The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

There has been
doing at the studio
doing with paint
doing with creativity
doing with wool
wool to keep the flow
the way one strand of yarn
flows around in circles
circles of my thoughts
creation
becoming
playing
spur of the moment
collecting elements
letting them find their place
to make happy a very special somebody
that in turn is giving a precious something
too
going fishing for "remembering fishing with dad"
my dad only fished
as a young man
and a nest with baby hair
und eggs
beginning more
for the family that the baby lives with
that contributed its hair
because he is the first of more
flower in colours
so sweet and
different for me
in love
I am with it and
much more will come
